Pony Power Therapies offers therapeutic horseback riding, horse-assisted learning, garden-assisted learning, and group life skills sessions. Programs focus on physical, social, and emotional well-being through interaction with horses and nature. Hours
- Monday through Thursday, 3-6 pm
- During the school year, lessons are given on Sunday mornings and Monday through Thursday, 3-6 pm.
What's included
- Instructor and two trained volunteers per riding lesson
- Horse or pony suitable for rider's size and needs
- Hands-on time with horses during team building
Requirements
- Riders must be cleared medically and considered safe and appropriate by staff
- Meet height and weight guidelines for horses
- Able to tolerate wearing an ASTM-approved riding helmet for entire lesson
- Provide own ASTM-approved helmet
- Volunteers must be at least 14 years old for lessons; morning Farm Crew volunteers must be 18 or older
- All lesson volunteers must be able to walk for at least 90 minutes and jog for short stints
